Actress Sarah Jessica Parker not only stars in her new movie, Sex and the City 2, but helped mastermind and produce Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha’s return to the big screen.

Parker admits that she supervised ‘every detail, every atom’ of the production of the sequel to the hit 2008 movie.

One source claims the actress and mother to twin baby daughters, took such hands-on role she was even involved in making wardrobe changes.

The source told In Touch Weekly: "She knew everybody’s name on the crew, even before they all knew each other’s names.

“She’s a sweetheart but she’s also a producer and she’s tough as nails."

Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall has said she hates having her appearance judged by her age.

Cattrall, 53, said she is happy with her looks but said she gets fed up with people telling her she looks good for her age.

She said: “But this adage ‘She looks good for her age’… Why can’t I just ‘look good’?”

Cattrall added that she has also not given in to plastic surgery like other actresses have.

She said: “I don’t think: ‘Not for me’. I just don’t know yet.”

Cattrall is currently appearing opposite Matthew Macfadyen in the West End show of Noel Coward’s Private Lives.

She said: “People keep asking: ‘How do you feel about your leading man being so much younger?’ I think: ‘You would not be asking that question if it was the other way around and Matthew was in his 50s.’”

Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall has said she is looking forward to the release of the sequel movie as the secrecy surrounding it has been ‘crazy’.

The 53-year-old actress plays the role of Samantha Jones in the TV series as well as the movie adaptations.

The first movie was released in 2008 and the sequel is set to come out later this year.

She said: “It’s crazy. You really have to be careful because I’ve signed my life away to say I won’t tell.

“It gets to the point where you’re terrified to carry your script around just in case someone catches a glimpse of it. I’ll be glad when the movie is out and we can all relax.”

Reports that the Sex And The City stars are filming a third movie at the same time as the sequel are “definitely not true”, according to a production source.

It was recently claimed that the SATC cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, 44, Cynthia Nixon, 43, Kristin Davis, 44, and Kim Cattrall, 53, are filming the third movie at the same time as shooting the second because they fear they are getting old and want to leave their roles looking as young as possible.

But a source said: “[The rumours are] definitely not true. There is no script for part three, so they would not know what to shoot.”

Actor Gilles Marini has said there just wasn’t a place for his character Dante in the Sex and the City movie sequel.

Marini, 33, played Samantha’s love interest Dante in the movie, but he has not been cast to return in the movie’s sequel, which is currently shooting.

Asked about not being recast, he said: “Well it’s very simple, the character of Dante was very important in the first movie. And he made Samantha realise she was like him five years before.”

He added: “The script took a different turn and they don’t want Dante in New York, I mean he would freeze to death in New York taking a shower outside.”

Marini added: “The script took a different approach and there’s no place for Dante in that script, but let me tell you from what I’ve heard from producers and directors… it looks like it’s gonna be a brilliant movie.”

Asked if he’s upset about not returning, he said: “No, not at all. How could I? Sex and the City put me on the map, internationally speaking.”

Marini then said that he would have been upset if his character was in the second movie but another actor was picked for the part.

Sex and the City star Chris Noth said he took a “holistic approach” to slim down for the movie’s sequel.

Noth, 54, told USmagazine.com: “I went to a place called the Island Experience in Brazil on Ilha Grande. It’s two hours drive from Rio and 40 minutes by boat.

“Usually it’s about going to a trainer and all that but [the resort has] a very holistic approach. I needed to bring my body into fitness – so I went for nine days. It was a total vegetarian diet. Basically, you spend all day doing yoga, hiking, kayaking, eating vegetarian food, no coffee, no alcohol, no meat.

“You’re cleansing yourself, but not starving yourself. I’ve never been a vegetarian, but the way they prepare it is exquisite. And you’re in one of the most beautiful Atlantic rainforests on the planet.”

The actor admitted that he is now struggling to keep the weight off: “The only problem is the upkeep of it. Restaurant portions are way too big. And you realise everything around you is basically bad for you. It’s a process.”

A ranking of the top-earning actresses has put Angelina Jolie at the top, with a figure of $27 million earned in the past year, while Nicole Kidman has slipped to $12 million from previous years.

According to Forbes magazine, Jolie raked in most of her dollars on Wanted, an action film that saw her make more in the past year than husband Brad Pitt (who earned $25 million). Salt also brought top dollar for the action star and mother of six.

"Much of Angelina’s earnings came from her share of the profits on Wanted, but she also scored a fat upfront check for Salt, an action film originally slated to star Tom Cruise, in which Jolie plays a CIA agent who is accused of being a Russian spy," Forbes said.

Pitt’s former wife Jennifer Aniston followed Jolie, earning most from the romantic comedy Marley and Me and her upcoming film The Baster about a woman who tries to get pregnant by artificial insemination.

Forbes said: "Aniston also still earns money from [reruns of TV series] Friends and she gets a nice paycheck shilling for Glaceau’s SmartWater."

Veteran Meryl Streep came in at No. 3 with $24 million from Mamma Mia.

Sarah Jessica Parker ranked fourth with $23 million in earnings following the movie version of TV series Sex and the City. Another Sex movie is in the works. Cameron Diaz came in fifth, banking $20 million. Nicole Kidman, Australia’s top-earning actress, ranked with Drew Barrymore at $12 million earned between June 2007 and June 2008. Renee Zellweger rounded out the top 10 at $10 million.

Forbes said: "As is still typical for Hollywood, our actresses earned significantly less than their male counterparts." The magazine pointed out that the top-earning actor, Harrison Ford, earned $65 million.

Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker said she had a "no-nudity" clause in her contract for the show.

Jessica Parker, 44, who played the part of party girl Carrie Bradshaw, revealed that she was the only one of the show’s stars who did not have to strip off in the hit US TV series.

She said: "I was the only one of the cast not to take my clothes off, because I had a no-nudity clause. I didn’t do the really bad language or play with sex toys [either].

"But people think that I did.”

She added, "No one wants to see me nude – believe me! I was thrilled that the others did the scenes so well and they looked great. But I have had to deal with my own modesty.

"I wasn’t comfortable with the vulgar language, either. I thought that, because Carrie was a writer, she would be able to use better language than she did."

Sex And The City part two is presently in the storyline development stage. Carrie Bradshaw, the character being played by Sarah Jessica Parker in the movie, got married to her Mr. Big (played by Chris North) in the first movie and fans are asking if a baby is in the offing for the sequel. While Chris North said it is unlikely that he and Sarah Jessica Parker are having a baby, he also admitted that this is just one of the lies he’s been telling about the movie.

Sex and the City part 2 will hopefully be shown summer 2010 even if Carrie Bradshaw already found her man. Candice McDonough, New Line Cinema spokeswoman said all the four stars including the director have already signed up for the sequel. The TV series-based romantic comedy was a hit in the box office last year and even egged out Indiana Jones during the opening.
