Oscar-hopeful Kate Winslet is known for her untraditional views on beauty and here she goes once again proving that beauty is only skin deep. Kate Winslet, who became popular for her role in the hit “Titanic” where she bared all for a painting session with Leonardo di Caprio’s “Jack”, earlier said she has a woman’s body which has been formed for having children. Winslet was commenting on her voluptuous curves which were contrary to the prevailing notion of skinny body that time.
Winslet has demystified her beauty secrets most recently saying she would have to love her backside. She said young girls and all the women out there should not perceive celebrities, especially her as perfect because behind that perfect face are blemishes hidden by makeup. She said retouching seems to have taken on a taboo status with no one talking about it but she does not want it to remain a secret anymore. The mother of two, who has been raking in Awards and nominations for her movies, said she would not allow her celebrity status to affect the way she is raising her children.

Titanic’s “Rose” wowed everyone during yesterday’s Golden Globe Awards by bagging not one but two awards. Kate Winslett won Best Supporting Actress for “The Reader” and Best Actress for “Revolutionary Road”. The two-award harvest was quite a vindication for Winslett after being nominated in the said awards giving body five times in the past without winning even one of those nominations. She earlier joked that she was not used to winning awards. Well, after a double harvest she will surely get used to it.
Winslett was initially speechless and even almost forgot to mention Angelina Jolie as one of the nominees for best actress. She was able to identify Anne Hathaway, Kristin Scott Thomas and Meryl Streep and took sometime before she remembered Jolie. She said she was banking on Hathaway winning the award and said this could not be happening to her. In her speech, Winslett named her Titanic and Revolutionary Road leading man Leonardo Di Caprio and her husband Sam Mendes as the two incredible men in her life. She said she has loved Di Caprio for 13 years already and said that working with husband Mendes (her director in the film) made her love him even more.
