Shannen Doherty thinks Nicole Scherzinger was helped on dance contest
May 27, 2010 on 4:42 pm | In Dancing With The Stars, Featured, Nicole Scherzinger | No CommentsFormer Dancing With The Stars contestant Shannen Doherty thought Nicole Scherzinger had an unfair advantage on the show.
Scherzinger, 31, was recently crowned the winner of the US dancing show, while Doherty, 39, went out in the second week.
Doherty said Scherzinger had an unfair advantage because of her dancing background in her group The Pussycat Dolls.
She said to E!: “Nicole’s an amazing dancer and singer. So it’s hard to compete with that.”
Asked if she thought the star had an edge over the other contestants, she said: “Yeah, you know… whatever. In the long run, it’s up to the fans. It’s a bit of a mixed bag over there.”

Karina Smirnoff would love to teach Kate Gosselin how to dance
May 14, 2010 on 6:36 pm | In Dancing With The Stars | No CommentsKarina Smirnoff has said she would love to teach Kate Gosselin how to dance.
The professional dancer on hit US show Dancing With The Stars admitted that she would love to show Gosselin, who recently bowed out of the show, a thing or two.
She said to UsMagazine.com: “I think Kate is very real – I love that about her! I respect the fact that she says what she thinks. I think a lot of people in the entertainment industry play the part instead of being who they really are.
“I think Kate did not play into that – she remained herself. She’s a mum, she’s a businesswoman, and I respect that a lot. Maybe she wasn’t the best dancer on Dancing With The Stars, but she tried her best and she was fun to watch.”
She added: “She did everything she could. Obviously, Dancing With The Stars is very demanding because of the schedule and you have such a limited amount of time to learn everything.”

ABC to blanket Erin Andrews with heavy security
April 6, 2010 on 2:22 pm | In Dancing With The Stars | No CommentsErin Andrews’ appearance on Dancing With The Stars tonight will be heavily vetted by security.
The ESPN sportscaster, whose peephole stalker was recently jailed, was reported receiving death threats last week. ABC was set to search parking lot listed vehicles arriving at Monday night’s live show on which Andrews is a contestant.
Andrews was the victim of multiple death threats in at least a dozen emails since last September, her attorney Marshall Grossman said. RadarOnline reports Grossman revealed the identity of the source of the threats was strongly suspected. He said: “We believe we do [know the identity]. The FBI is on the case.”
Meanwhile, the AP today reports the origin of the threats is believed to be Norfolk, Virginia. The FBI’s Norfolk office is investigating the threats. Norfolk FBI spokesman Phil Mann said no arrests have been made and declined to comment on a report the emails were sent from someone in Newport News.
Mann said the messages began with a sexual tone but developed into threats. They discuss the case of Andrews’ stalker Michael David Barrett, who was sentenced last month to 30 months in federal prison for peephole stalking and filming.
Andrews planned to dance a waltz with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Dancing With The Stars airs on ABC at 8pm Monday.

Kelly Osbournes confidence rises on Dancing with the Stars
October 13, 2009 on 5:38 pm | In Dancing With The Stars, Osbournes | No CommentsKelly Osbourne wore a black wig to perform a Cabaret-inspired Charleston on America’s Dancing with the Stars.
She also revealed she is a fan of musicals, even though it was “an embarrassment” for rocker Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter.
Blonde Kelly also told how she was once offered the lead in Chicago on Broadway but because she couldn’t dance, she was given another role.
“It’s always been a big regret not to get that role,” she said.

After a successful dance to the Cabaret 1920s-style theme song with her mother Sharon in the audience, judge Carrie Ann Inaba said: “Your face lights up and it makes me get excited. You lived up to it.”
Len Goodman said: “You came out with confidence and performed the dance. Overall, very well done.”
Bruno Tonioli said: “It was a very good performance. You should be happy.”
The couple scored a total of 23 out of 30, three more than last week.
Kelly finds out if she has made it through to the next round on Tuesday night.
Paula Abdul is Wanted
August 13, 2009 on 2:40 pm | In American Idol, Paula Abdul | No CommentsAmerican Idol may not want Paula Abdul anymore but Dancing with the Stars does. ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson told reporters that he would love it if the former AI judge joined the dance show. He said last weekend “We would love to have her on Dancing whether it’s as a contestant, or a participant, judge, etc.” Paula has also been offered a spot as a guest judge on the So You Think You Can Dance panel but DWTS has something a little more permanent in mind. Although ABC’s dance show already has 3 professionals at the judges’ table already, Stephen claims that “all possibilities are open” for Paula.
Jewel Leaving DWTS
February 27, 2009 on 7:31 pm | In Dancing With The Stars, Jewel | No CommentsJewel is the latest victim to succumb to the Dancing with the Stars curse. The singer might have to drop out of competition due to a knee injury she got by overexerting herself during rehearsals. Jewel posted the dish on her blog this past Wednesday. She said “I guess I really over did it on the rehearsal front! My knees have been hurting so badly that I finally broke down and talked to Ty’s knee doctor yesterday. He said I have tendonitis in my knees and that I have to start a course of medicine to try and bring the swelling down… The worst part is that I can’t rehearse for the next couple days… But now I’m just worried I won’t even be able to dance! Hopefully these steroids will really do the trick and I can keep bad flare ups at a bay in the future.”
