Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott has revealed he’s on the mend – after tweeting from his hospital bed.
McDermott, 43, was rushed to intensive care last week after a serious motorcycle accident left him bleeding heavily from a puncture wound on his right side.
But now he seems to be healing after he tweeted on Sunday – the July 4th Independence Day holiday in the US.
“Happy 4th everyone!” he tweeted. “Feeling better today.”
Later in the evening, he added: “I’m healing, slowly. I’ll be doing rehab for a while. I messed a few things up when I crashed.”
McDermott also seemed focused on family, writing about his three-year-old son Liam with Spelling.
He wrote: “Tori asked Liam who his best friend was and he said, ‘Dean is. He is my brother’. Made me cry.”
His wife Tori tweeted the message back to him and added: “Happy 4th of July everyone! Have a great and safe holiday!”
On Saturday, McDermott had also shared details of his recovery, writing: “I had the worst night.
“Catheter cut me up coming out. Unbelievable pain. I got a fever of 104 and was throwing up.
“Fun, wow!”

AFI ROCK THE ROXY FOR CRASH LOVE RELEASE PARTY
October 2, 2009 on 6:42 pm | In AFI, Album, Live, Performance, song | No Comments
To celebrate the release of their eighth studio album, Crash Love, AFI took to the stage at the world famous Roxy on Sunset thanks to local Los Angeles radio station KROQ. In front of an intimate crowd of hundred’s, rather than thousands that typically fill AFI shows, the band played a thrashing 14 song set filled with classics of the past, and a handful of Crash Love gems that are soon to be just that. Highlights of the night were too many to capsulize, but front man Davey Havok’s front flip into the waiting crowd on “Kill Caustic” and the stunning rendition of The Cure’s classic “Just Like Heaven” marked just a few of the moments that lit up the night. Reminiscent of 1995, AFI welcomed Nick 13 (Tiger Army) and Geoff Kresge (ex AFI/Tiger Army) to the stage to sing “Nyquil,” a track from the band’s first album, Answer That and Stay Fashionable. Electric performances of AFI’s radio singles “Miss Murder” and Crash Love’s “Medicate” put a cap on a night that will not soon be forgotten by the fan’s lucky enough to be present that night.
Fans of AFI who could not be at the show now have the chance to watch a handful of videos from the epic evening on KROQ.com. To find out when and where you can see AFI live, visit AFireInside.net/events. Crash Love is in-stores now and available everywhere good music is sold.
Nicolas Cage movie crash fans relive horror
May 5, 2009 on 1:11 pm | In Movies | No Comments
Two by-standers injured when a car chase scene for a Nicolas Cage movie went badly wrong in New York City have relived their horror.
Mamadou Babaou and Salma Sheuly were hurt when a Ferrari spun out of control as it raced through Times Square for scenes being shot for Cage’s upcoming movie, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
The accident happened with stunt driver Jeremy Fry behind the wheel of the high-powered sports car as it weaved in and out of traffic for the scene.
It is believed he lost control of the car on the wet road before it slammed into a pizza restaurant and a lamp-post.
Babaou, 24, was struck by the lamp-post as it crashed to the pavement.
“I hear a lot of sounds in my head and my back is killing me,” he told the New York Post.
“I was thinking I was dying. It was crazy. I passed out.
“I’d like to talk to the movie producers to tell them to be more careful, to watch what they’re doing.”
Sheuly, 22, was clipped by the Ferrari as it came to a dramatic and unplanned stop.
“The car hit me in my right thigh and I fell down,” she said.
“If my friend didn’t pull me back, I would have been in front of the car.”
Both were treated at Manhattan’s Bellevue Hospital and released within hours.
A spokesman for the Disney movie told the New York Post that all safety regulations had been followed.
