Bourne Identity star Matt Damon is to receive his first lifetime achievement award aged just 38.
Damon, who played Jason Bourne in the Bourne trilogy, will receive the honour – the American Cinematheque Award and is expected to accept the award in person, according to reports.
The bosses at Cinematheque have moved the ceremony from its usual October slot to 27 March, 2010, so that the event does not get overlooked during the awards season.
Damon won an Oscar over ten years ago for writing movie Good Will Hunting, in which he also starred, and has gone on to appear in flicks such as Ocean’s Eleven and its sequel movies.
The Cinematheque award is given out each year to artists who are “committed to making a significant contribution to the art of the motion pictures”.
