Valentine’s Day star Bradley Cooper, has revealed that he has signed up to star in the sequel to hit comedy The Hangover, according to US reports.

The movie – to be shot in Miami, Florida – is reportedly in its early stages, with a production team including actor Zach Galifianakis already in the sunshine state scouting for locations.

The first film, which was set in Las Vegas and chronicled a nightmare stag weekend, was one of 2009’s biggest hits.

Its stars – Cooper, Ed Helms, Galifianakis and Justin Bartha – have reportedly been anxious to ensure the sequel matches the success of the original movie, which made an astonishing $462m worldwide last year and was produced on a budget of only $35m.

Cooper, who is currently dating actress Renée Zellweger, said: “The four of us got together and toyed around with the idea of where it was going to be and what happens, and [director] Todd Phillips came up with this hilarious opening that I hope stays.”

Renee Zellweger had a surefire way to ward off a cold over the stressful Christmas season.

The actress picked up Emergen-C Immune Defense Vitamin C (Honey-Lemon) sachets, along with Starbucks drinks, during the chilly break in Los Angeles.

Zellweger was hosting Bradley Cooper’s parents, Charlie and Gloria, around Venice for sight-seeing and last-minute gift-bagging ahead of the big day.

She was reported brimming with Yuletide joy as she showed Cooper’s mother around an Italian delicatessen and pointed out special treats she thought Gloria would favour.

The happy holiday reunion put to bed any doubts about the couple’s blossoming romance. They took a European sojourn over summer that included intimate moments stolen in a historic church.

Renee Zellweger drew a host of celebrities to the New York premiere of My One and Only.

Donna Karan, Rachel Roy, and designer duo Mark Badgley and James Mischka graced the red carpet for the event.

My One and Only is based on the life of producer and actor George Hamilton. His single mother, Ann Deveraux (Zellweger), loaded her sons into a car and headed west. Hamilton laughed as he told reporters about the movie, saying, “The madness of my family, which was extraordinary, and the wonderful lessons that my mother taught me about life gave me the ability to withstand 52 years of Hollywood. I’ve never had any addictions … maybe a little to the sun, but the bottom line is that I live a very healthy life.”
