Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor, will join Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News as a political commentator and part-time host.

Palin’s candidacy for the Republican Vice-Presidential job was soured by controversy and backlash. She has hammered out a multi-year deal with the corporate news giant.

Palin’s celebrity has succeeded her embattled candidacy. She will provide political commentary and analysis to political and business news programmes and host periodic episodes of Real American Stories to debut later this year.

The appointment at the conservative Fox follows on the heels of the release of her memoir, Going Rogue, which stormed to the top of the US bestseller list in its first week in November. It carries some irony since she blamed the media for adversely affecting her 2008 Whitehouse bid.

Brad Pitt asked to run for mayor

The Hollywood star has been asked by the people of New Orleans to stand as mayor, reports Showbiz Spy.

Pitt and wife Angelina Jolie have both helped the city following Hurricane Katrina.

Resident Thomas Bayer said: "We need outside help getting the city fixed — Brad can get that done."

Ashley Judd takes on Governor Sarah Palin

Ashley Judd is teaming up with members of the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund to fight against the animal cruelties that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is meeting out to the bears and wolves in her state.

Ashley Judd is to launch her attack by releasing a video campaign on the internet wherein the actress issues a stern warming and condemns the Governor for allegedly promoting the aerial killings of bears and wolves in the state of Alaska.

The video message is – “it’s time to stop Sarah Palin and stop this senseless savagery.” If that is indeed the case then I think she should be immediately removed from her post and how come this has been going on, even if in the most remote cases there is an over population of these animals then there are different ways to tackle the issue but killing animals is not going to be tolerated.

That’s why McCain failed to win the US Presidential elections because his aide Sarah Palin is not a person who is politically correct and she is the one reason why McCain lost a race he was once ahead in.

Ben Affleck camping out of Washington D.C. for Inauguration Day

Hollywood actor Ben Affleck has reached Washington D.C. well in advance for the Inauguration Day celebrations of new US President Barack Obama and is already camping out in Washington D.C. just so that he can do everything to ensure he gets the best seat at Tuesday’s Presidential Inauguration.

Affleck says, “I’m going to camp out. I’ll bring a tent – and a heater!” And Ben is just one of the many Hollywood celebrities who are reaching Washington to witness the Democrat sworn in as the 44th president.

This is really a feast that America has been waiting for a long time. According to TV reports the last time out going President Bush was sworn in for his second term some 120,000 people were a part of the celebrations. But this time is special and some 2 million are expected to attend the Presidential Inauguration on 20 January 2009.

Not just the citizens of United States but the entire world is looking up to him for ‘Change We Need’.

After months of tiring election campaign, finally it was Barack Obama who got to celebrate the victory in front of huge crowd in Chicago.

After being elected as the 44th President of United States of America, he addressed a jubilant rally and said, “If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy – Tonight is your answer.”

Apart from hundreds of thousands of Obama fans, the event was also attended by the gorgeous Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt and some other celebrities.

Florida got some last minute encouragement from rappers Jay-Z and Diddy over the weekend. During a ‘Last Chance for Change’ rally on Sunday at Florida Memorial University, the duo told voters not to be discouraged by long lines at polling places. Music executive Kevin Liles also pointed out that fans have endured long lines for CDs and Jordans so why not endure long lines to vote and make a change. Hip hop mogul and singer Mary J. Blige were also in attendance showing their support to the now President-elect Barack Obama.

According to a new study, celebrities actually can influence young voter turnout.
A survey of 305 students at Washington State University found that celebrity initiatives, such as those led by Christina Aguilera, Beyonce Knowles, and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, with their go-out-there-and-vote attitude, actually compelled kids to well, do just that!
Hey, that’s good news! It’s refreshing to hear that these powerful celebrities can help us mold the future.
Headed by Erica Austin, the study looked at the effects of celebrities encouraging young people in 2004 and found that 44% of newly registered voters were ages 18 to 25.
This year, about 44 million people aged 18-29 are eligible to vote on November 4th. If more than 50% of those young voters actually hit the polls that would be the third largest young voter turn out since the voting age was lowered.

The latest edition of the “Saturday Night Live” show saw Tina Fey’s special guest.

The Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin was the super guest of her impersonator Tina Fey.

Governor Palin made the much-awaited appearance on the television’s popular show on October 18, 2008.

The show started with Tina Fey impersonating the Governor taking a press conference, while real Sarah Palin was talking to the special guest stars Alec Baldwin and Mark Wahlberg backstage.

Alec Baldwin mocked to slip-up Palin for Fey and said, “You can’t let Tina go out there with that woman. She goes against everything we stand for – good lord, Lorne.”

Not remembering Sarah Palin’s nickname, Baldwin asked real Palin to remind him. “That would be Caribou Barbie,” Palin said.

America definitely wants a vice-president with a nice sense of humor. What do you think?

The Republican vice-presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin has decided to face her impersonator Tina Fey at the “Saturday night Live” show.

Tina Fey’s wonderful impersonations of the vice-presidential candidate Palin have been the most popular highlight of the US Presidential Elections 2008.

Her imitations were so good that Palin was forced to call them “a hoot.”

Palin also added, “I love her… she’s so talented.”

Fey has mimicked the Governor on the “Saturday Night Live” show thrice despite of the fact that she had left the show to do “30 Rock”.

The beautiful lesbian girl Lindsay Lohan has also joined the party after a score of different celebrities criticized the Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin.

Lohan took an eye off her girl-friend and roommate DJ Samantha Ronson and wrote, “I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin. Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight or to use birth control or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?”

Apart from blasting Palin for her policies related to women, she also wrote in her blog, “Don’t pose for anymore tabloid covers, you’re not a celebrity. In the words of Pamela Anderson, ‘she can suck it’.”

Opportunity knocks only once Tina! Here’s a great reason why you should do a major comeback in SNL!

On Friday, it was announced that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was chosen to be Republican presidential nominee John McCain’s running mate. The 44-year-old Idaho-native claimed to be the mother of five children, the youngest of whom was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Palin’s decision to have the baby was applauded by the pro-life community.
However we have incriminating evidence that suggests Sarah Palin is not the mother of four-month-old Trig:

– Trig is not Sarah’s son, but grandson. It was her 16-year-old daughter Bristol who was carrying.
– Family had taken Bristol out of Anchorage High School due to contracting “infectious mononucleosis”. Reports say she was absent from school for five to eight months. Mono can last anywhere from two weeks to three months.

I say this counts as a really good skit for the hit TV show! Tina really resembles Sarah, plus this picture is good enough reason for her to come back!

She said, “To put things into perspective and maybe help to understand why we maybe need to adjust the way we’re doing things in the world, the conflict in Iraq has displaced over four million people.” Perhaps we shouldn’t arm our troops either. That should save a bundle to benefit the refugees. Perhaps she has forgotten our troops are there to keep USA safe and to protect the innocent civilians of Iraq. Maybe she should get her priorities straight. I know she is pretty much influential be it politics in Hollywood or politics in America and the world, but she has to realize that the people of this country are such much susceptible to terrorist attacks as anywhere else in the world and to be true we are more in the firing line. So we need to spend on our forces and be vigilant on the threats that can pose to us.

The suddenly serious funnyman has taken to YouTube, releasing a public service announcement that calls for the release of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, a peace activist and icon of Burmese democracy who has been placed under long-term house arrest for her nonviolent efforts against the Southeast Asian nation’s ruling military regime. Its easy sitting in luxury and talking about what other countries should be doing. I am sure Burma has its own political problems but that is the case with every country be it a Democracy or Communist country. I rather suggest Jim that you ask USA to control the brutality that its soldiers are doing on a daily basis in Iraq and elsewhere. Jim get out of the home comforts and visit one of these devastated places to have a look for yourself. I needn’t say much after this. Surely you have some good cause to work on.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has his head on his shoulders more than most other celebrities his age right now. He has recently stated that he is not supporting any of the politician’s running for President in the next election. In the last election Leonardo was an outspoken supporter of John Kerry. He even went to fourteen different states to support him and help raise funds for him. He says that of the politicians campaigning this time none of them have had any concrete facts regarding the environment. He has yet to hear anything that catches his attention. It’s nice to see someone in Hollywood acting like a normal human being for once. This is the kind of thing that is important. More celebrities should be focusing on the world and the reality that affects us all rather than who got drunk and busted last night.

Like what kind of advertisements would they be doing with him, and the covers of the magazines be carrying his pictures with what khaki apparels or something that the Zulu’s in Africa wear. Will their new designs feature a big strawberry birthmark on the cover? But tell you what, this is the most different thing that a leading fashion label would have done in its entire history, having a Politician to be the face of their brand will certainly give some super models sleepless nights and may be take a pay cut to try giving their new competition (Gorbachev) a taste of how nasty thing are in this business.

Steven Spielberg Threatens To Quit His Beijing Olympic Position

Filmmaker Steven Spielberg has threatened to leave his position as artistic director of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, unless China takes action against Sudan. China is a major investor in the African country’s oil industry and has been criticized for failing to send United Nations peacekeeping troops to the troubled Darfur region. The Chinese have also been accused of selling weapons to Sudan. Spielberg wrote to Chinese president Hu Jintao in May urging him to use his influence to encourage Sudan to accept peace keepers. Now he is warning he will decide in the next month if he will withdraw his support of the games. I applaud him for the bold step that he has taken. If Steven is such an acclaimed Hollywood’s powerful people then he should certainly be using his powers to influence the Chinese govt. and tell them to accept peace keepers. Though this is a political matter but with the region being so susceptible to violence there is urgent need to save guard the people of that country.
