Jon Voight has penned an open letter to US President Barack Obama blasting his stance on Israel.

“You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel,” the Oscar-winner wrote in the missive published in the Washington Post.

The 71-year-old went on to argue that Obama had: “Propagandised Israel until they look like they are everyone’s enemy – and it has resonated throughout the world.”

Voight addressed the President contending: “You play a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. But the underdogs you defend are murderers and criminals who want Israel eradicated.”

He went on to suggest that Obama had: “Brought to Arizona a civil war, once again defending the criminals and illegals, creating a meltdown for good, loyal, law-abiding citizens. Your destruction of this country may never be remedied, and we may never recover.

“I pray to God you stop, and I hope the people in this great country realise your agenda is not for the betterment of mankind, but for the betterment of your politics.”

The National Treasure actor ended the letter with: “With heartfelt and deep concern for America and Israel. Jon Voight.”

According to reports the actor’s daughter, actress Angelina Jolie, has herself fought with her partner Brad Pitt about American politics.

“She’s into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts,” a source told Us magazine.

“She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise.”

Sir Paul McCartney is to receive an honour from President Barack Obama when he performs at the White House.

The former Beatles star will play there on June 2, and the performance will be shown across the US later in the year.

Obama and his wife Michelle will be hosting the show in the East Room, and McCartney will be given the third Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from the Library of Congress.

The honour is given to those who have spent a lifetime songwriting, and last year it was given to Stevie Wonder.

The singer hinted that he might be given the honour during a recent webcast.

Oprah Winfrey will pay a visit to the American president and first lady for a Christmas at the White House TV special.

The daytime talk show doyenne who last week announced her pending 2011 retirement from a show that has run for 25 years will interview Barack Obama in a special to air on ABC on December 13.

Winfrey will also be filmed in a conversation with Barack and Michelle Obama and on a tour of the White House.

Winfrey was a critical supporter of the Illinois Democrat’s presidential campaign but the interview will be her first with him.

Winfrey’s BFF, Gayle King, attended the White House state dinner this week, where Michelle dazzled in a classic evening gown.

The Obama special is yet another glittering prize in Winfrey’s sparkling career. Recent interviewees have including Whitney Houston, Sarah Palin and Ted Kennedy’s widow, Vicki.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Forest Whitaker and agent Bryan Lourd were selected for President Barack Obama’s Committee on Arts and the Humanities.

The Hollywood-flavoured government panel will address questions to do with arts and humanities education, cultural diplomacy and how the arts and special events can revive the economy.

Other high-profile players to sit on the panel will be Anna Wintour, Yo-Yo Ma, Edward Norton, Kerry Washington, Alfre Woodard, director George Wolfe, independent filmmaker Liz Manne and publicist Andy Spahn.

Adding some intellectual clout and glamour will be First Lady Michelle Obama, who is the panel’s honorary chairwoman. Co-chairs were named as film producer George Stevens Jr and theatre producer Margo Lion.

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver said he isn’t going to let any boys near his daughters when they get older.

The Naked Chef, who recently met US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle, is dad to three girls – Poppy, seven, Daisy, six, and Petal, four months.

Oliver told British magazine Closer: “It’s going to be tough, isn’t it? Jesus, I’m not going to want any boys going near them, not my girls! The other two have got big so quickly, they’re little ladies already.”

Despite being a dad to all girls, Oliver said he is happy with his lot and said he isn’t yearning for a son.

He said: “People say I should be grateful for what I’ve got, and I am! I never said I wanted a boy. I’m very happy with my girls.”

Ashton Kutcher has admitted having fantasies about being beer-drinking buddies with Barack Obama.

The Hollyood hunk admits he so loves the US President he wants them to be such good buddies even First Lady Michelle Obama gets jealous.

The Punk’d star admitted: "I have dreams that we’re like pals, we like drink beers together, Michelle gets upset that we’re staying out too late…"

He added: "I had a dream that we were flying in Air Force One and a plane came up next to us and started shooting us. I was freaking out and he just turned around and said, ‘It happens all the time’. He was so cool about it!

"And then we landed and he turned to me and said, ‘Don’t Twitter about this. We don’t want the American public to get worked up about thee little things’.

"And I was like, ‘I’m cool man – let’s go and have another beer with Michelle’."

Ashton said his dreams became all the more exciting when he saw pictures of Obama famously downing beers with a U.S. cop and a race relations leader at the White House.

"I saw that thing on the news and he’s hanging out at the White House having beers with people!

"I was stoked because I think it’s actually coming true! It’s happening! It’s like he’s throwing barbecues.

"His birthday is coming up and I’m looking for the invite. Sooner or later it’s going to go down."

Ashton spent plenty of time on Conan O’Brien’s TV chatshow talking about his favourite subject – Twitter.

Calling himself "the uncompensated spokesman for Twitter", he joked about his most eye-catching recent Tweet – posting a picture of wife Demi Moore’s scantily-clad behind.

"I asked her before I put it out to the world. I asked her, ‘Are you OK with me sending this out to the world’ – and then I sent it really quick," he joked.

Peter Perkin, 54, got the talent competition off to a funky start with his act as the Rock’n’Roll President – blending Obama with Godfather Of Soul James Brown.

The impersonator impressed judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and David Hasselhoff, who sent him through to the second round in Las Vegas with a chance to win $1million.

Quirky Zoe and Dave Campanello also wowed the audience early on in the show with their roles-reversed dance act Paradizo Dance.

After 240lbs Dave lifted his 100lbs wife into the air, they swapped positions – with Zoe staggering the audience as she held her chunky husband up on her back.

The opening episode – held in Seattle – also had its fair share of freaks including 47-year-old Brad Byers, who claimed he was ‘hooked’ on performing from an early age.

His act, an impersonation of the world’s worst fishing trip, saw him put a steel hook in through his nose and out of his mouth before suspending a swinging boat anchor to the end!

Early favorites for making it into the finals included the singing EriAm, Haban, 11, Salina, 13, and Lianda, 15. Their performance of the Jackson Five’s I Want You Back brought the audience to their feet and rapturous applause.

But the funniest performance came from amateur singer-songwriter David Johnson, 30, who penned an original song for his appearance dedicated to The Hoff.

Supermodel Iman has said President Barack Obama’s wife Michelle is “not a great beauty”.

The 53-year-old is married to legend David Bowie, with whom she has a young daughter.

Talking about Michelle Obama, she said: “Mrs Obama is not a great beauty.” She added: “But she is so interesting looking and so bright. That will always take you farther. When you’re a great beauty, it’s always downhill for you.”
