Sir Ridley Scott making YouTube video with Kevin Macdonald
Directors Sir Ridley Scott and Kevin Macdonald are making a movie based on videos uploaded to YouTube.
Macdonald, who was at the helm of The Last King of Scotland, has asked users to shoot footage of their day-to-day lives and post the videos online on July 24.
Scott, who was behind movies such as Gladiator, will be producing the footage, which will be called Life in a Day and will be put together for a documentary at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah next year.
Macdonald said he is looking for ‘some real gems, some real magic’ in the videos and said he was hoping the film will ‘open people’s eyes to the possibilities of user-generated film’.
