Casting rumours for new Beatles film
January 12, 2010 on 5:57 pm | In Actors, Beatles, Movie Premieres, Movies | No CommentsCary Elwes, Dean Lennox Kelly, Peter Serafinowicz and Adam Campbell are in talks to portray The Beatles in upcoming movie Yellow Submarine.
Director Robert Zemeckis is remaking the Beatles animated flick for Disney, which was first released in 1968 and was based on the music of the hit Liverpudlian band.
Zemeckis, who recently worked on A Christmas Carol for the animation studio, is using 3D performance-capture technology for the movie.
The story sees a soldier named Old Fred meet up with the band and they travel in a yellow submarine to Pepperland.
Brit actor Kelly is best known for starring in the BBC’s Robin Hood and will play John Lennon, and Serafinowicz, who has appeared in Couples Retreat, will play Paul McCartney.
Elwes, pictured, worked with the director on A Christmas Carol and will portray George Harrison – Date Movie star Campbell will play Ringo Starr.
