Regis Philbin is making a good recovery from hip replacement surgery.
The veteran talk show host will return to Live! With Regis & Kelly alongside Kelly Ripa in January.
Access Hollywood reported an e-mail from the ABC show said: “Word from the hospital is that everything went perfectly this morning during Regis’s hip replacement surgery, and his doctor said that Regis couldn’t be in better shape.”
The 78-year-old Philbin expects to return to the show in early January after surgery this week – with usual recovery time from the surgery between four to six weeks, the e-mail noted.
Philbin had bypass surgery in 2007. No other details were available.
