Hollywood actress Hilary Swank said she was picked on as a child because she came from a trailer park.
The 35-year-old is famous for starring in hit flicks such as Boys Don’t Cry and Million Dollar Baby.
She will soon be starring in Amelia, which is about the story of Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic.
Swank grew up in a trailer park in Bellingham, Washington and she said to UK magazine Stylist: “It wasn’t that being poor made me feel like an outsider.
“It was the way I was treated. I realised, at a young age, what class difference was. Parents of friends wouldn’t allow me in their house.
“I felt different and wondered why I didn’t belong, why I couldn’t be at their house playing with their kids. It was through watching movies or reading books that I learned about relationships. Perhaps that’s why I like these types of roles.”
