Susan Sarandon, Al Pacino to star in Dr Death movie
Susan Sarandon and Al Pacino will star in a movie about America’s Dr Death, Jack Kevorkian. Pacino will play Kevorkian, the real-life assisted-suicide doctor.
Sarandon will play Janet Good, a Hemlock Society activist, who works side by side with Kevorkian with the aim of making humane suicide available to the terminally ill.
She then finds herself seeking Kevorkian’s services when she is diagnosed with terminal cancer. The HBO flick, titled You Don’t Know Jack, will also feature John Goodman and be directed by Barry Levinson.
Kevorkian has assisted in more than 130 suicides and served eight years in jail on a second-degree murder charge before being released on parole in 2007.
The movie is based on the book titled Between the Dying and the Dead: Dr. Jack Kevorkian’s Life and the Battle to Legalize Euthanasia by Neal Nicol and Harry Wylie.
