QUANTUM OF SOLACE IS THE #1 MOVIE
Before the release of the movie, industry experts predicted that the new James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace, would reel in about $60 million from U.S. filmgoers this weekend.
They were all wrong.
According to the latest numbers, the film is on its way to at least a $71 million open!
However, the final numbers won’t be available ’til Monday.
The last 007 movie, Casino Royale, opened at $40.8 million.
That’s a huge improvement!!
To date, Quantum of Solace has made $212 million worldwide.
Woah!
Rounding out the top three for the weekend are, Madagascar 2 at #2 and Role Models at #3.
Madagascar made another $39 million for DreamWorks and Role Models pulled in $11.5 million for Universal.
The economy is shit, but everyone’s still going to the movies!
