The Miley Cyrus controversy continues to roll on. People like Rosey O’Donnell, Ellen DeGeneres, Hilary Duff and even Stephen Colbert have been talking about her. While there has been a lot of negative thought on it, it’s a win-win situation it seems. Miley has received wide media coverage which has now made her a household name. I’m getting sick just talking about her. As for Vanity Fair, their website actually crashed on Monday due to the millions of people logging in to view the photos. But as for Miley and her parents, a source said that “Her parents are mortified. A situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old.” Did her parents forget that they were also Miley’s handlers and could have nixed the whole thing?

Amy Winehouse Released on Saturday

Amy Winehouse was arrested last week for allegedly head-butting a man for hailing her a cab. It was also reported that when Wino voluntarily went in for questioning that she was pretty out of it and made police officers wait for hours before being able to ask her anything since the doctor pretty much said that she wasn’t fit. Wino was then released from prison on Saturday morning and only given formal caution. She wasn’t charged for the incident but over on their side of the world, if you’re given a caution, it means the incident will stay on her record an can be used against her is she ever gets charged with anything like it in the future.

Britney Spears Learns to Sing

Britney Spears was spotted as she left the house of her vocal coach in Tarzana, Los Angeles this past Friday carrying a CD. The CD label read: ‘4/25/08 Britney’s Voice Lesson – Afternoon’. Even the pros have to brush up on their lessons sometimes. Considering that she’s been out of the loop for a good while, she needs a lot of catching up to do. Earlier that day, Britney had a personal training session at Bally Total Fitness on Ventura in Studio City. The recovering starlet is looking happier and healthier and is definitely looking more sane. That’s really good to see.

It was recently announced that Jennifer Lopez will co-create, co-executive produce and star in a documentary series for TLC. Cameras will follow the new mom as she launches a fragrance while juggling her responsibilities as a first time mother to her 2-month old twins Max and Emme. TLC President Angela Shapiro-Mathes commented on the partnership saying “Jennifer is unbelievably passionate about life and will be an incredible role model for our audience . I’m thrilled to be partnering with her on a series that will take our audience into a fascinating world. It’s a fun, emotional journey that will be inspirational and yet very relatable to today’s women.”

No Prom for American Idol

Earlier this month, Brooke White had to skip out on her sister’s wedding because she was on American Idol lockdown. Now, another Idol contestant will have to miss a milestone of his young life as David Archuleta will not be able to attend his high school prom. The contest has pretty strict rules about not letting the contestants out of their sight on the weekend since it’s during then that mentor tapings and rehearsals take place. David’s prom takes place this weekend in Murray, Utah which makes it a definite no for him attending. I’m sure the hearts of the girls in his high school are breaking.

Madonna is well on her way to conquer the world and she’s not going to stop from doing so now. It has just been announced that the Queen of Pop will be the headliner for the Saturday Main Stage of BBC Radio One’s ‘Big Weekend’ on May 11. She’s got an album coming out, she’s got the number one single all over the world and she’s one of the highest paid stars ever. Is there anything in the world that this pop diva can’t do?

Britney Spears Returns to TV

People is reporting that Britney Spears is returning to the set of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ to reprise her role as Abby, a secretary at a dermatologist’s office. A source said “The show is ecstatic and so is Britney. She had so much fun the first time around she really wanted to come back. It was a mutual decision to work together more.” The show’s stars and producers have been vocal about liking her performance. Neil Patrick Harris even said how great of a job she did but later on said that he hopes she doesn’t come back because the show doesn’t need the cheap ratings that she brings in. Well there’s nothing he can do about it now. Britney is back ya’ll!

Vannessa Hudgens Album Release

Vanessa Hudgens is one pretty sneaky teen. I vaguely remember reporting about her recording tracks earlier this year for her album and now she already has a single out and has a release date! The ‘High School Musical’ star’s upcoming album ‘Identified’ will reportedly be out on June 24, a Tuesday. And if you want to get your hands on her brand new single ‘Sneakernight’, the dance song will be available on iTunes on May 20, also a Tuesday. I wonder when she’ll come out with a video for this. And again, I’m left wondering if she’ll have boyfriend Zac Efron as her co-star in the video.

Benji Madden gets Paris Hilton thumbs up

Paris Hilton’s new boyfriend Benji Madden has got the seal of approval from her parents.

Rick and Kathy Hilton say there is more to the tattooed Good Charlotte rocker - who has been dating the hotel heiress since February - than first meets the eye.

Rick said: “Benji is the perfect example of, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover.’ He is polite, well mannered, and he even calls me sir. We love him like family already.”

Kathy - who has met Paris’ previous boyfriends including Rick Salomon and Brandon Davis - feels the 27-year-old beauty has found her soul mate.

She said: “This has honestly become the real thing. It’s a great love match, and I have a funny feeling it’s going to go all the way, and we’ve already given it our approval. Their life has never been better. We agree with Paris that he is an amazing guy. He has changed her life, and I really think she’s genuinely in love for the first time.”

Paris has been accompanying Benji on Good Charlotte’s tour, and the pair have shown their love for each other by wearing matching ‘P’ and ‘B’ necklaces.

Cruz Beckham is star of David

David and Victoria Beckham are sending son to an exclusive Jewish school in the US.

Becks, 32, and Posh Spice, 33, met staff at a top private nursery attached to a Jewish temple in Los Angeles last week. The couple think it is the perfect place for their three-year-old youngest son to start school.

Posh spent 3½ hours there, while Becks stayed the whole day.

A source said: “There’s no plan for Cruz to be educated in the Jewish faith. It’s just one of the best schools for young children in LA.”

The school is one of the largest Jewish day schools in the USA. It has exacting academic standards and has twice as many applicants as places. Becks’ mum Sandra’s family is Jewish but she doesn’t practise and he has no other association with the religion apart from his famous Hebrew tattoo.

But David referred to himself recently as “half Jewish”.

The LA Galaxy star has the Hebrew phrase: “I am my beloved and my beloved is mine” etched on his left forearm, next to “Victoria,” mis-spelt in Hindi.

Posh, whose family has no Jewish connections, was so touched she had the same, but smaller and on her neck.

Cardboard Cutout American Idol

American Idol contestant Brooke White mentioned on Friday’s elimination show that she was going to skip her sister’s wedding on Saturday because of the show’s rehearsal schedule. All contestants know in advance about the schedules and are very aware that they can’t miss the weekend rehearsal. Don’t feel sorry for her though because Brooke and the rest of her family came up with a creative way that had her at both places at one time. They actually built a cardboard cutout of Brooke that took her place at the wedding! It’s a better solution than having to skip rehearsal and then getting the boot because of not having enough practice.

Jessica Simpson Approves

While Ashlee Simpson has been quite vocal of her approval of older sister Jessica’s man Tony Romo, Jess has been elusive in her love and support of Ashlee’s love life. But that ended recently when the elder Simpson talked to People right after it came out that Ashlee and Pete Wentz were engaged. Jessica said “My sister is overflowing with joy. Pete is an incredible soul. They naturally bring out the best in each other. I couldn’t be happier.” Their father Joe also spoke on the engagement saying “[Pete] did ask me. I told him that I would be honored to have him as part of my family.”

Low American Idol Ratings

American Idol’s special ‘Idol Gives Back’ was the highest rated program last Wednesday night but it actually received lower ratings this year than it did during its debut year last year. Even with A-list appearances and performances from the likes of Brad Pitt, Fergie, Rihanna and Mariah Carey, the show still went down 34% among adult viewers in ages 18-49. Is Idol losing its touch? Well, at the last elimination show, it was announced that they’ve already raised over $66 million. It’s obvious that people haven’t stopped caring about other people. Maybe they just stopped caring for Idol, the show itself.

No American Love for Kylie Minogue

She may be getting love the world over but Kylie Minogue sure isn’t getting love from America. While the Australian hottie of a singer had an ambitious TV campaign to promote her new CD in the US which had her going on Ellen, the Today show, Dancing with the Stars and the Late Late Show, she still only ended up debuting on the Billboard album charts at a disappointing #139. Her record ‘X’ only sold a very disappointing 5,500 copies. What is wrong with America? Oh well, she may never make it big in the US but the rest of the world still loves her anyway

Mike Myers to host MTV Awards

Mike Myers will host the MTV Movie Awards on June 1.

The ‘Shrek’ star is looking forward to taking charge of the Los Angeles ceremony - which distributes awards including Best Screen Kiss and Best Villain - because he thinks it will be a fun event.

He said: “Hosting the MTV Movie Awards is like a party, but without having to do beer runs in your mom’s mini van. We do beer runs in Will Smith’s four-storey motor home.”

This will not be the first time the 45-year-old actor has hosted the awards.

In 1997, he presided over the ceremony where winners included Tom Cruise and Claire Danes.

Previous hosts of the awards include Will Smith, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Last year’s host, comedian Sarah Silverman, caused controversy when she made jokes about troubled 26-year-old singer Britney Spears.

She said: “Britney Spears is amazing. She is in her twenties and she has already accomplished everything she’s going to accomplish in her life. It’s mind blowing! And have you seen Britney’s kids? Oh my god, they are the most adorable mistakes you will ever see! They are as cute as the hairless vagina they came out of.”

Blonde Britney Spears on the mend

The oddball behaviour has been curbed - and so it appears have the fashion faux pas. Britney Spears’ road to recovery is truly into full swing.

The singer was spotted shopping in LA yesterday looking healthy and neatly kitted out.

Showing a bit of cleavage, with the help of a bra that fits, she even went for a manicure. Now all she’s got to do is raise a smile.

Fergie on American Idol Gives Back

Fergie was at the taping of the American Idol special ‘Idol Gives Back’ which took place at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday in Hollywood. The 33-year old singer also performed on the show with the lead singer and flute player of Heart, Ann Wilson and Ann’s younger sister Nancy Wilson, the guitarist of Heart. Fergie also took to the stage one more time to perform a song with John Legend. Don’t forget to tune in tonight as the special airs at 7:30 to 10 PM ET/PT on FOX. And watch out for one of Fergie’s performances as she does some sort of one-handed flip. Let’s hope that makes the cut.

Madonna’s Baby

Madonna was scheduled to be in Malawi this Tuesday to determine whether she can really keep her adopted son David Banda but had asked the courts to reschedule for the end of April due to another engagement in the US. While there have been no official news yet, some reports suggest that the Malawi government actually recommended that its High Court formally approve the Queen of Pop’s adoption. Malawi laws prevent non-citizens from adopting in the country. But when a non-citizen can provide a good home for an orphan, who’s to argue with that? I say give Madonna the baby.

David Beckham gives $16m home to in-laws

Big-hearted David Beckham is gifting his $16million Dubai mansion to wife Victoria’s parents.

The England soccer star has handed the keys to the waterfront villa—set on an exclusive palm-shaped artificial island—to delighted in-laws Tony and Jackie Adams.

Becks bought the property in 2002 for $1.600,000. But since then its value has rocketed as Dubai has taken off as a holiday destination. Although he and Posh will still own the mansion, they have told Tony, 61, and Jackie, 59, to decorate it to their liking—and are allowing them to spend as much time as they want in the stunning home.

A source close to the 32-year-old player, who is now with American side LA Galaxy, revealed: “David realised he was not going to be able to spend any time in Dubai. He’s got his commitments in Los Angeles and it’s a long trip, especially when he still has to spend a lot of time in London. So he discussed it with Victoria and decided that the Dubai place would be a really special present for her parents. They’ve done so much for the family already and are involved in all of David and Victoria’s ventures anyway.

“He trusts them completely and knows the property will be in very safe hands. He still retains legal ownership, but on a day-to-day basis it’s to become their place. He’s a practical guy and thinks there’s no reason to have an amazing house sitting empty.

“David and Victoria have told them they might visit once or twice a year for some family time, although at the moment that seems quite unlikely because they’re so busy.”

The gift could be viewed as a snub to David’s divorced parents, Ted and Sandra, who have had a more rocky relationship with the couple in recent years. But the Beckham insider said: “All of David’s family will be allowed access to the house if they want it. They’d just have to sort out a time with Tony and Jackie. David is a family man. He loves his parents and he’d never want to cut them out.”

Britney Spears wedding No.3

Britney Spears is set to walk down the aisle for a third time. But don’t fret; she’s not rushing into another, probably doomed, marriage herself.

Instead she will act as chief bridesmaid at her teen sister Jamie Lynn´s upcoming nuptials, according to reports in the US.

The Zoey 101 star - who is pregnant with her first child with Casey Aldridge - is planning to tie the knot at Britney’s Serenity estate in Kentwood, Louisiana in the summer.

Jamie - who turns 17 on April 4 - has yet to confirm she is engaged to her long term beau, however she has been spotted out shopping wearing a large diamond sparkler on her ring finger.

A source close to the Spears family said: “Jamie Lynn is planning to have the baby at Serenity, and, soon after, she will also get married there. She wants Britney to head her list of bridesmaids, and wants to wait at least several months to get her figure back so she can wear a beautiful wedding gown and then have her dream wedding.”

Family friends also say mum Lynne is said to be insisting that Jamie Lynn and Casey sign a pre-nup.

A source tells, “The contract is already drawn up and ready to go. Lynne’s not sure marriage is a good idea, but she’ll go along with that if that’s what Jamie Lynn wants, as long as Casey signs the contract. Lynne is keeping an eye on him. He doesn’t seem as committed to the relationship as Jamie Lynn.”

Jessica Simpson in the Hospital

In Touch is reporting that Jessica Simpson was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to a small kidney infection. A family friend has confirmed the news saying “She checked in on Friday morning because she was feeling achy and had a fever.” Jessica was kept for observations over the last weekend and was released on Tuesday morning. The family friend goes on to add that Jessica was fine during her stay and that all she could really think of was getting out of there. I’m sure she was hoping to spend quality time with her boyfriend Tony Romo who wasn’t at her bedside during that time.

Heath’s Love Child

It’s sad that people feel the need to start stories about the dead. This time - Heath Ledger.

One of Heath’s estranged uncles has released the claim that Heath may have fathered a love child. The child was apparently fathered when Heath was a teenager.

Apparently, Heath dated a 25 year old woman back when he was 17. She found out she was pregnant when the relationship ended and was living with another man. She later gave birth to a little girl. His uncle Hadyn says, “There is a very real possibility that Heath was the father.”

However, he also said later, “It is a rumor and it is one tha thas been out there for sometime, not only within our family but certainly in the wider community of Perth and it’s certainly a rumor that I’m aware of and other people have certainly been aware of. It’s only a rumor and I sumply answered by saying yes it’s a possiblity.”

Richie Sambora May Skip Out on DUI

Richie Sambora may get out of getting a DUI charge from last week. It’s not because of legal footwork but because he may not have been DUI. The Bon Jovi guitarist volunteered to submit to a blood alcohol test after he was busted in Laguna Beach. It may take a while to get the results but sources are saying that Richie didn’t drink much at all before he got stopped so results may register below the .08 legal limit. Even if he was driving erratically and had any alcohol in him, he can still get out of getting charged. Heather Locklear going to court to wrestle away some custody of their daughter may not be in the cards either as Heather has some of her own problems to deal with that could go against her.
