Grammy Ratings
February 14, 2008 on 1:16 pm | In Funny, Grammy Awards, TV Show, Television | No CommentsAccording to the preliminary reports, Sunday nights Grammy Awards telecast was the third least watched ever in its 50 year history. 20 million viewers tuned in last year while only 17.5 million made the effort this year. And to think that the Recording Academy spent so much money on promotions because 2008 was its 50th anniversary. But looking at the brighter side of things, the Grammy’s did win the ratings battle that night – it beat out ‘American Gladiators’ and ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’.
I have a solution for the Academy – bring back Justin Timberlake in 2009! Herbie Hancock wasn’t enough of a draw.
