Girl Power - Melanie B of Spice Girls

It seems that ‘Girl Power’ is alive and well once again. Spice girl Melanie B has recently beaten a court bid by her ex-husband to stop her taking her daughter on tour with her.Mel B has full custody of eight-year-old Pheonix; but her father has visiting rights to her every other weekend. Refusing to be flexible on this visitation schedule, dancer Jimmy Gulzar turned to the courts for back up.

But it blew up in his face when the judge decided that it would be good for the child to travel the world some, and has allowed the soon to be nine year old to travel with her Mum until March.

Too right. Not only does a child rightly belong with her mother, why deny her the opportunity to see the world? I know that when I was eight or nine, I would have jumped at the chance to travel. Girl Power all the way.

Jessica Simpson just plain Bombs

She might be a blonde bombshell to look at, but Jessica Simpson’s looks did nothing to attract the viewers to her new movie; released in the states last weekend. Despite original plans to go straight to DVD the movie was given a ‘vanity run’ at 8 theatres in Jessica’s homeland state of Texas.Titled ‘Blonde Ambition’ the movie just plain bombed – making a whopping $500 on its first weekend.

No I haven’t missed the zeros off. I do mean five hundred dollars.

Bosses hoped the fact that fellow Texan Luke Wilson starred in the flick would make it popular in the Southern state.

Instead it attracted an average of only SIX people per showing.

Oh dear. Don’t all rush at once for the DVD will you? It will be released in January as originally planned…

Britney’s Trunk

It’s common for paparazzi to stake out some of Hollywood’s hotspots to see if they can get the latest gossip. On one of those boring mintues, one photog at Hyde spotted an unusual car. It was a white convertible cruising down Sunset Blvd. using its spare tire on the right read and with its trunk ajar. Watch out pedestrians, Britney Spears is on the road!

The pop wreck was headed over to Rite-Aid drugstore to buy some stuff for the kids where she parked her car in a handicapped spot. She’s handicapped alright, just not in the common definition of the term.

Four Seasons Says No Permanently - Britney Spears

There was Justin Timberlake, KFed, Mama Spears and Sister Spears and now, The Four Seasons. Everyone wants Britney out of their lives!

According to an inside source, the pop wreck will no longer be granted part-time residency at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. The hotel has decided to ask Brit’s people to make sure she doesn’t return. Apparently, the guests at the 5-star establishment are fed up with her and the hotel just doesn’t want anything to do with her anymore.

The Four Seasons isn’t the first hotel to close its doors on Britney though. That honor goes to the Chateau Marmont.

Britney Sister Pregnant - Jamey Lynn

For once it’s not Britney in the limelight with some blunder or another…it’s her 16-year-old baby sister. It is revealed that Jamey Lynn, who stars in Nickelodeon TV show Zoey 101 kept everyone in the dark until she could figure out what she wanted to do.

Long-term partner Casey Aldridge is the father-to-be, but does not wish to speak out at the moment. Hmmm. Despite assurances that both families are “fine” with the situation, though admittedly shocked, we are told that big sister Britney is “frantic”

Well as long as she doesn’t take parenting tips from her older sister I am sure that Jamey Lynn will be fine. She already plans to bring up her baby in Louisiana “so it can have a normal family life.” Sounds perfectly sensible to me.

Tori Amos for the Writers

It looks like Tori Amos is in one of her war freak modes again. She’s already told off some fans for disrespecting her during a concert, and now, she’s recently made an impassioned call to arms at her Los Angeles concert on Sunday night.When Tori took the stage, she had the angriest of her characters and spoke a furious battle cry shouting “Writers! Writers! Where are you in this fucking town? When you gonna stand up and stop sucking the cock of the infested corporate clone? Seize the power!” If it’s not obvious, she’s in support of the Writers Guild strike.

Goodbye Riley, Hello Spencer? - Lindsay Lohan

Seems that rehab had a positive effect on Lindsay Lohan’s dating life. Maybe she’s coherent enough now to actually hang on to a man. But oh, the list keeps growing.

Who knows what’s up wiht Riley Giles, but now Spencer Guilburt, a “graphic artist” and “actor” says he’s spent some time with Linds. He says, “I’ve seen her a lot since she’s been home, and expect to see me with her more.”

Umm, want publicity or what, man? He won’t say if they’re actually dating, though. His smug reply? “If I’m dating Lindsay, Lindsay will let you know.”

He says being with him is a good thing for her. He says he isn’t into booze and doesn’t use “substances”. He’s helping her…

Spice Girls Reunion Returns Home

And they’re back….again….at home.

It was an early Christmas present for many fans as the Spice Girls took the stage in London for the first time since 1998. And it was especially exciting since Emma Bunton, a.k.a. Baby Spice, had to limp through the dance routines.

Just Wednesday, Emma was hobbling around on crutches after having injured her ankle in their Las Vegas show on December 10. By the concert, though, she’d put the crutches down, even though she wasn’t 100% healed. A rep for the group said, “They have had to rework some of the dance routines because of Emma’s ankle. She wanted to do the show. It is her hometown.”

On hand to cheer the group on was Victoria Beckham’s family (a.k.a. Posh Spice). This was one of 17 shows planned for London.

Kevn Federline Fed Up

Seems like this is one custody battle that’s never gonna end…..

Kevn Federline’s lawyer was not happy about Britney’s last minute cancellation of their hearing, and he let the courts know. He said, “I’m not mad - I can move forward with or without her. But there will be a request to the court to address some kind of remedy to what I feel as a willful non-appearance.”

He says they didn’t find out about Britney’s supposed “medical condition” until just minutes before they were scheduled to start.

He continued, “But she was in fact out later that day and night. It’s not fourth grade where you get a doctor’s note and it’s all OK. She was ordered to attend. And if there’s a legitimate reason for her not to attend she would have to establish that.”

Umm, hello….she’s Britney Spears. Can’t she do whatever the heck she wants? No? Well, she sure seems to think so. And as she deals wit her “medical condition” the lives of her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James hang in the balance.

Christina Aguilera loves her pregnant nude

As if it wasn’t enough to make us pregnant women jealous that celebs are getting their nude pregnant selves printed in magazines; and looking good whilst they are at it, it has been revealed that Christina Aguilera loved hers so much she is having them enlarged.

If I only I could be as confident in my big pregnant self. But then I guess if I looked as fabulous as Christina I might do.

The singer; who was shocked to get pregnant so soon after coming off the contraceptive pill, plans to have the Mariue Claire pictures blown up and displayed in her house so that everyone can see them.

A source said, “She also wants them to be up when the baby is born so she can show him or her what their mum looked like while she was pregnant.”

OK so she looks gorgeous. Green-eyed monster feelings will pass eventually…so I’m told.

Quiet Riot Singer Died of Overdose

The singer for Quiet Riot, Kevin Dubrow, was found dead in his Las Vegas home on November 25. Quiet Riot was best known for their 1983 cover of ‘Cum on Feel the Noize’. At the time, reasons for his death were unknown. But now, Nevada’s Clark County Coroner has shed some light on the death of the 52-year old singer from the 80s metal band.

They have ruled that Kevin has died of an accidental cocaine overdose. The cause of death was confirmed after toxicology results came in on Monday. How is cocaine overdose deemed accidental? Aren’t all users killing themselves either way? Don’t do drugs kids!

Angelina Jolie claims daughter is outcast.

But only because that’s how she sees it. Biological daughter Shiloh is apparently the “outcast” in the family because she is blond and blue-eyed; looking like father Brad Pitt.

I wouldn’t say outcast…more like lucky. Or is that just me? I mean, who wouldn’t like to look like Brad?

But Angelina, talking of her three other children, all adopted, says, ““I felt so much more for Madd, Zahara and Pax because they were survivors. Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born.”

Talk about giving your kids an inferiority complex. With an attitude like that poor Shiloh doesn’t have a chance!

Brooke Hogan is Addicted to Glamour

Since mom Linda filed for divorce and went back to LA, Hulk Hogan’s daughter and wannabe singer Brooke is having no problem fitting right into the Hollywood shopping scene. Too bad her mom can’t get child support for her. It’s obvious she needs some cash.

Paparazzi caught up with Brooke as she tore down Robertson Blvd. as she hit every high-end store in sight. Sources say that she popped into Lisa Kline and dropped way too much on such simple items. She bought an $80 ‘Addicted to Glamour’ t-shirt, several $90 evil tees, a $150 necklace and a $170 metal dress.

Compass Takes a Wrong Turn

After spending $180 million dollars to bring talking polar bears to life, The Golden Compass didn’t exactly make the headway expected for an opening weekend. While it did end up as the number one seen film, it only grossed about $26.1 million.The fantasy film was expected to join the ranks of Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Harry Potter. However, seems as if being based on a bestselling series of books is about the only thing they have in common.

Opening on Friday, The Golden Compass had already endured weeks of poor reviews and criticisms. The film was under a boycott urged by a conservative Catholic group because of the author (Philip Pullman) and his supposed anti-God beliefs.

Looks like Nicole Kidman let the Compass lead her in the wrong direction - straight to a box office flop.

Madonna to adopt daughter

It is getting more and more common for a celebrity to adopt a child from a suffering country. Angelina Jolie and Madonna have both successfully adopted in the past and Britney is attempting to adopt; despite her family troubles.

And now our Madge has reportedly sent a team to Malawi to find her a daughter. Sounds like a really odd shopping trip when you put it like that. But the material girl singer, who already has an adopted son from the African country, is apparently desperate for a daughter; instructing her aides to draw up a short list of nine orphans whose families won’t block the adoption. She is quoted telling staff “Don’t rest until you have found me my princess!”

The pop superstar had planned to adopt a 20-month-old girl, Mercy, but was said to be devastated when her family blocked her application. Mercy’s uncle, Peter Banet, said: “I’d rather be struggling with Mercy than for her to live with a big white star far away.”

It seems all that Madge wants is a sister for David. Good luck to her is all I can say.

Brad Pitt Love His Kids

It’s hard to fathom Hollywood’s hottest hunk settled down with a family, but that’s just what Brad Pitt is. He is happily married to Angelina Jolie and shares parenting responsibilities for their four children.

In an interview with Larry King, airing Wednesday, Brad describes fatherhood as “everything”. Three of his four children with Angelina are adopted, but that doesn’t make a difference to brad.

He smiles and tells King, “They’re as much my blood as I am theirs. And they are brothers and sisters. One came from Ethiopia, one from Vietnam, one from Cambodia, and one was born in Namibia. And they are brothers and sisters, and they have fun and they squabble and they fight, just like any other family. and it makes me so proud.”

Brandy Parties On

It has been over 11 months after R&B singer Brandy got into a car crash that killed a mother of two but Brandy has absolutely no problems about going out clubbing in Hollywood. The 28-year old singer hit up Club National on Friday to celebrate the new CD of her brother Ray J.

The LA City Attorney’s office has only until December 30, the one year anniversary of the crash, to decide whether to file criminal charges against the singer/actress. While Brandy could party all the way to New Year’s, the victim’s family can’t do the same.

Whether they file charges against her or not, we still know what she did.

Britney Calls the Ex

Britney Spears is still hung up on Kevin Federline. And there’s proof!

First point: the brief cameo of a guy that looks remarkably like KFed in her video for ‘Gimme More’. Then, there’s the extended invite to her birthday celebration. Unfortunately, KFed chose to not attend – and with good reason.

The pop wreck reported called her ex at 1AM on Saturday night to be a part of her birthday bash, but he declined saying that one of them needed to be with their two sons. Brit, who was said to have been using Paris Hilton’s phone because she couldn’t find her own, then hung up on him.

Joe Simpson: Matchmaker

Beyonce has her mom Tina Knowles doing pretty much every job in the book. Jessica Simpson has her own person like that in her life, found in her dad Joe Simpson. Joe is pretty much her manager, wardrobe consultant, life coach and pimp.

Page Six is reporting that Joe is now delivering the goods for Jessica’s love life. Joe is reportedly the one responsible for the hook up with the singer/actress and Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo who has been pining for Jessica for ages. Joe is apparently a big Cowboys fan so when Tony asked to take Jessica out, Joe was more than happy to give out her phone number. The relationship has gone so well that Tony was actually present at the Simpson’s family Thanksgiving.

Katie Holmes’ Grown Up Do

Yeah for Katie! She finally looks a little more grown up. Maybe she decided she needed to look a little closer to hubby Tom Cruise’s age.

Whatever her reason, she certainly showed him up when he was honored at the Bambi Awards in Germany on Thursday. She looked amazing and was the lady of the hour all night!

She sported a new do with a darker tone to it. Her trademark longer locks have been cut into a well-manicured bob with bangs. If anyone can pull that look off, it’s TomKat!
