David Hasselhoff has been caught on tape boozing it up in front of his kids. The tape, recorded by one of his kids, shows him incoherent, sitting on the floor shirtless. He might end up losing his kids over his issues with alcohol, and this tape is only a nail in the coffin on his custody. I am a recovering alcoholic. Despite [the fact] that I have been going through a painful divorce and…have recently been separated from my children due to my work, I have been successfully dealing with my issue,” Hasselhoff said in a statement released after the tape was aired by Extra, Entertainment Tonight and The Insider.
It’s a sad thing, but alcoholism is a disease that affects so many of us. Just because he’s an overly tanned actor, that doesn’t make him immune to the frailties we all face. I have had personal experience with this issue, and I can tell you, it’s heartbreaking to see someone do this to themselves. Let’s hope the release of this tape will be the breaking point with which David will finally see the need to get help.
