Beyonce’s “B-Day” hits copyright snag

Columbia Records is considering the prospect to pull Beyonce’s new deluxe edition “B-Day” from store shelves and after a dispute over publishing rights. But they don’t want to completely remove the release altogether Columbia plans to manufacture and distribute a new version of the deluxe edition, minus one track featuring the challenged copyright, multiple sources say.

The reason for all those problems is the track and the accompanying video of “Still in Love (Kissing You)” a new remix of Des’ree’s  1996 song “I’m Kissing You”.

Des’ree is now suing Beyonce for not asking for permission to use her song in the remaking and it seems that Beyonce would be forced to remove this song from her new album and fans wouldn’t be able to hear it.

I don’t know what Beyonce did or not to get those copyright for the songs but it would have been very nice to hear this song after all because it’s really nice to see how one song can be changed and sound more like the songs we are listening now.
